School is back in session! Our hope for you and your family is that whatever is going on in your life, you have peace, joy, and some great things to look forward to.
Asher is now a 10th grader and hit a big milestone this summer. He got his drivers permit and also got his boating license! Between schoolwork, friends, baseball, basketball and family—he's got lots of practice ahead, but watch out for him on the roads, water, courts, and ballfields!
Portia, now an 8th grader with an upcoming birthday, also has much going on! School, softball, volleyball, friends, taking care of the horses, her recent 8th grade service trip (see pic below), and generally being awesome (including the crazy 13-year old girl stuff)! The two of them best be thankful to Tania for all the NoCO buzzing around!!!
At the office, we’ve recently been discussing with many clients their plans and desires for their estate and assets toward the end of life and after they pass. We’ve met several client's adult children so we are all on the same page. I find this so valuable. This is something we are passionate about; we simply want the best for our aging clients (mom & dad). Many of us have already experienced this process of walking alongside a loved one going through the late stages of life and the financial planning (or lack thereof) that goes with it. This is something we all have to go through and our commitment to you is that you do not have to go through the complexities of this alone. We are here to help you and your family now, even in younger years, as well as later in life. Our staff is full of compassion and we hope you feel you can trust us to do what is right for your family during all of life’s transitions!
Another pertinent transition is the news on interest rates, which have been moving downward for a couple of months now, with the anticipation the Fed will reduce short term rates starting this fall and continue into 2025. The market is expecting the Fed (short term) rates to be around three percent a year from now. We’ll continue to track this and act accordingly.
As you know—it’s an election year! Every general election cycle I get questions and concerns about what is going to happen if...? Well first off, we are fortunate that each of us has our vote—so please do so. In regards to ‘the markets’, a divided-gridlocked government is historically the best for risk/returns; how I read it, is if ONE party is in control of the MONEY then there are increased deficits and debt that follow. This election cycle has additional financial consequences due to tax, tariff, spending policies. Historically, it has paid off to ‘stay invested’ to and through the election cycle, and that continues to be our position.
There is a lot to consider and monitor, both with the current year and where we all are in our lives. We are here to help and also to encourage you to enjoy the moments, even in the hard times, and if we can be of service to you, we are here!
Have a great Fall season, and I will talk with you soon!
Josh
