Thank God for Spring 2024! As I write this, the weather has finally broken from wet and cold, to sunshine! Ready or not, longer, hotter days are on the way. As per the norm, Hattig Financial, as well as the Hattig family, are staying ‘chock-full!’ There are many joyful things we are in the midst of at the office and at home.
For me, spring brings a sense of renewal, energy, and hope; as well as spending time outdoors! Many of you love the planting and growing season with your gardens, plants & flowers, and yards. I know several of you are getting your pools ready for summer! Whatever your energy is geared towards, I hope you feel an abundance of joy preparing throughout springtime! We too have been ‘playing in the dirt.’ Tania and I are completing fence and some corrals at the ranch so the yearling and the baby horse (due in April) have a great place to grow and play!
It’s also baseball and softball season. Asher is on his high school JV baseball team and Portia is playing 14u softball. Asher plays outfield, pitches, and is an excellent hitter. Portia plays most positions, except pitcher, and she hit her first out of the park home run last month! She's trying to keep up with her brother! Hard to believe that in less than two months another school year will be in the books. It moves fast, and we already have pretty good idea of what we’ll be spending our time doing this summer.
Stephen and Claire’s boy, Oliver, is already turning a year old this month. Talk about time flying...wish mom and dad well! Rita has one daughter in college and her second daughter on her way to college, leaving one son remaining at home. Life keeps changing always, doesn’t it?
Regarding financial matters, the past year—specifically the past six months—have been quite nice for accounts. Last October, the rebalance we completed in most Schwab portfolios has posted nice results up to this point. Most recently, for clients who utilize their account for distributions, the minor adjustment made in March have been fruitful as well. Moving forward, we are working with the likely probability that sometime the next six to twelve months we will see interest rates hold steady and begin to slightly adjust downward. What this means for you is twofold: first, we will be communicating with you about adjusting your short-term interest rate accounts into medium term holdings or products to take advantage of current rates. Secondly, we are working with the assumption that as rates decrease, there will be future adjustments to money market and equity positions. Saying all this, it will be a windy, bumpy road—not a straight line. The ‘talking heads’ like to call it, “dislocations.” What this means is we’ve got our eyes on it!
Thank you for the referral introductions the past three months! We have met some wonderful people and welcomed some fantastic new clients. We are feeling abundantly blessed!
I’ll leave you with this quote, which you can find on our website, www.hattigfinancial.com:
“If you want to be successful, it’s just this simple. Know what you are doing. Love what you are doing. And believe in what you are doing.” ~ Will Rogers
Honored to be a part of your life,
Josh
