Here’s to a Super 2025. I’m hoping and praying for your happiness, joy, and health! We have a lot to be thankful for and a lot of good work for good people in front of us. A special job well done to Portia and Asher who both had very good grades, A’s & B’s for the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 school year. Way to go—keep it up! Both our kids are in the middle of their basketball seasons, plus baseball and softball are ramping up. These are the days... This Christmas break we were able to ski with one of my long-time friend's family. We had a 3-day ski trip for the Ages! Check out ‘Kitzbuhel’ for you avid skiers to see why it was so special! Another gift this Christmas break is baby Grace! Stephen and his wife Claire welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby girl to their family on December 28th. We are so happy for them and all that is in store for their lives... look at this precious picture. Congratulations!
I’ll keep the business info pretty short this month. Tax season is here and I’ve attached a 2025 Tax Guide. One item of note is that the SECURE Act 2.0 has provided clarifying guidance for our inherited IRA’s that are on the ‘10-year provision.’ Starting 2025 we need to start annual RMD’s. Everything else remains the same. January 5th this year the Social Security Fairness Act was signed into law; upon its implementation the Act eliminates the reduction of Social Security benefits for those entitled to public pensions from work not covered by Social Security, i.e. the WEP and GPO are repealed. Currently the Social Security Administration is evaluating how to implement the Act and will provide more information as soon as available.
One last fun item—I’ve restarted my dinner presentations! We are planning to hold a handful of event evenings this year; I may give you a call to invite you, and if you have a friend who wants to meet us it's a great way to ‘see us in action.’ Stay tuned!
God Bless, have a great start to the year, and we’ll talk with you soon.
Josh
