Summer Fun...and not so fun scams!

It’s summer! I hope you’re enjoying the longer, warmer evenings and making plans to spend time with loved ones. With two teenagers at home, we really don’t slow down, just move into summer activities and lots of fun. Asher finished his freshman year and has summer baseball, basketball, and ranch work to look forward to! Portia had a great 7th grade year. She’ll be playing lots of softball and taking care of horses. Both kids are no doubt looking forward to building more memories at camp as well!

We have a new addition to Hattig Ranch! Say hello to our new filly. She was born April 25th, and came into the world with a super sweet and kind of mischievous disposition, with magical blue eyes to boot. We’re looking forward to seeing her grow over the summer.

Things I’m Seeing - HOW TO BE PREPARED FOR SCAMS!

We’ve had a few clients who have been dealing with recent scams, so I want to take a minute to share some important information about what to be aware of and how to be on guard. Currently there is a widespread scam involving a caller claiming to have your personal information or credit cards and reporting suspicious purchases on your Amazon account. They claim to be from “xyz company” and offer to help if you will log into your bank account. DON’T DO THIS! If you unwittingly login to your bank account, this is where you are vulnerable and they can get you. Here is an article on this particular scam:

Note for our clients: none of the investment firms we work with will ever ask you to login to your bank account! Be diligent about reviewing your credit card charges, and make sure you are signed up for fraud protection.

Here is a very helpful article I highly recommend reading! Very informative about what to do to protect yourself in today’s world of sophisticated cyber scams:

MARKET UPDATE

In general, we have a good start to the first half of 2024 on both the fixed and market side of things. We continue to see current rates around 5% and are preparing for a potential mid to end of year slight rate decrease.  Let's continue to communicate the purpose and timing regarding each of your accounts so we keep things properly aligned.

THANKS TO BOTH MOMS and DADS

Where would be without our Moms and Dads? We are so very grateful for Tania and all she does to nurture and love our family. Hail to the Moms and Grandmoms that keep us together!

Father’s Day is also just around the corner on June 16th. Be sure to wish your Dad a Happy Father’s Day, and if you are blessed to still have a grandfather in your life, make a point to let him know how much he is appreciated and loved!

Have a great summer—I look forward to talking with you soon!
