Another school year in the books. Portia and Asher just completed the eighth and tenth grade! All A’s & B’s, all year, both semesters—way to go! Portia will be moving into High School where Asher can keep an eye on her—or more likely, she can keep an eye on him! They both had successful sport seasons for their school teams as well. Asher played basketball and baseball, while Portia played volleyball and basketball. Now it’s on to baseball and softball for their club teams during the summer. Next year will mostly be the same, but Portia will play school softball in the fall instead of volleyball. Colorado is one of a handful of states that has girls softball and volleyball in the same season. Great job all the way around for both kids!
As I write this letter, Tania and Portia are in Washington D.C. for her 8th grade class ‘DC trip.' So fun! I was able to go with Asher and his class on the same trip two years ago and it was one of our top highlights! We’re very happy for the girls...many memories and great history lessons!
MARKET OUTLOOK
We are continuing the hard work in the office, meeting with clients, analyzing and directing investments, and staying current with the economy. I’m glad we sent out our messages to you during March and April explaining our primary positions and intentions to mostly stay the course in the high-quality investments you own. It seems that towards the end of this summer there will likely be a large legislative bill coming from DC that extends the current tax regulation, among other details. Saying that, there is an underlying assumption that corporate America, i.e. stocks, have a fair probability of a decent year end. Interest rates are essentially flat and the Fed will likely reduce short term rates just a bit in the fall into winter. Of course, all this is contingent on many things that are out of our control, yet this is mainstream sentiment. We will continue to be in touch and keep you updated.
RANCH WORK
Beyond all of this, I continue to work on building out the horse ranch. The riding arena should be ready by the end of June—none too soon. I’ve been training Kira, our two-year-old prospect filly, all year, and thus far she is on schedule; Skye, the yearling, watches her sister get her education and I think she kind of knows...she’s next!
As always, Much Gratitude for You. It is our Honor to serve you and your family. Our hopes and plans are to continue our successful relationship for decades to come. Here’s to a joyful summer of 2025. I hope you have plans to enjoy family, friends, and hobbies. Let's work hard and play hard!
